The plastic waste crisis continues to escalate at an alarming rate. Every year, an estimated 8 million tons of plastic waste enter the oceans, choking and dying on more than 1 million marine animals and birds.
Germany is the largest exporter of plastic waste within the EU and is therefore directly involved in this crisis.
One place where the consequences are particularly visible is in the Philippines. The Philippines is particularly vulnerable to damage caused by plastic waste due to its numerous coasts and beaches as well as the diverse marine life. This is exactly where the idea for the countermeasure came about: The Dissolving Bottle.
The idea comes from the BBDO Guerrero based there, which has been dealing with the question of how to reduce plastic waste in the long term for years. Plastic straws and crockery, for example, have been a constant public issue for years. Shampoos and other care products in plastic bottles, on the other hand, are regularly forgotten even though they are used every day!
The Dissolving Bottle is an award-winning shampoo bar that has the well-known shape of a shampoo bottle, making it instantly recognizable as a shampoo by the consumer. Solid shampoos have been around for a long time, but they are often mistaken for soap. Due to its familiar shape, the Dissolving Bottle makes it easier for consumers to switch from liquid to solid shampoo. In addition, it contains only vegan ingredients and is only packed in cardboard, which means that it contains exactly 0.0% plastic.

It is produced locally in Germany, is available in 4 varieties and will be sold in retail and online in the future. Instead of exporting rubbish, we now import good ideas!
In addition, the sale of the Dissolving Bottle will also have another positive impact. For every dissolving bottle sold, the Berlin environmental protection organization CleanHub, which has declared war on plastic waste worldwide, collects another plastic bottle on behalf of Luoro & BBDO, which would otherwise pollute beaches, reefs and seas.
